Credit Builder Loan

We’ve all heard that our credit history is a critical component used by lenders to determine creditworthiness. But did you know your credit history determines the interest rate charged when borrowing money? Good credit history is important for getting the lower interest rates on a car loan, mortgage or credit card.  It may also mean lower insurance rates, a better deal on a cell phone plan or the determining factor in whether or not you are hired for a job.

Our Credit Builder Loan is a combination loan and savings program.  With a Credit Builder Loan, the amount you borrow is deposited into your savings account for the term of the loan.   As you make regular, on-time loan payments, you establish positive payment history that we report to the credit reporting agencies. When the loan is paid in full, you’ll have taken the first step in improving your credit history and have money in your savings account for the future.

Festival Hispano 2011 Winner Announced

Oscar Adame Sandoval of Columbus (pictured accepting his prizes from CUFCU President, Brian Christensen) was selected as the winner of a Samsung 32 inch LCD TV, Sony Blu-Ray Player and assorted Blu-Ray movies. Oscar was one of the hundreds of people who stopped by the credit union's booth during the 2011 Festival Hispano.  Columbus United was proud to be a major sponsor of the Festival that featured traditional music, regional dancers, authentic food and other great activities. Congratulations Oscar!
